I have a 2006 Montana SV6 with a noise in the front end. The drivers side wheel has a very loud audible click that occurs while the wheel is rotating. I do know that the ABS sensor wire is damaged. I tied the connector back it of the way, thinking the noise was this connector coming into contact with some part of the wheel. The noise still exists. Does anyone know what might be causing this click? I'm guessing something sensor related which means I may have to replace the hub.

did you try moving the wheel to the other side to eliminte the wheel/rock in the tire is causing the noise?

can you place the vehicle on jack stands supporting the lower suspension, remove the wheel and place the vehicle in gear to verify the source is not from the brake caliper.

I have done all that, thus the post. I did all the easy stuff to eliminate possible sources of noise. That includes the obvious check for stones in the rubber. That's why in posting here. I'm suspecting something internal to the hub, and wanted to know if anyone has encountered this.

cannt recall anybody posting a clicking noise related to the hub, usually the sound is that of a bearing failing, a constant grinding type noise.

I have had a few bad bearing and all have been a grinding noise or the wheel/tire will move. Almost sounds like an axel noise.

Exactly CV joint?

Oddly enough, the noise sounds exactly like a stone was stuck in the rubber. However that isn't the case. I have to take the van to the mechanic anyway for the ABS problem. I wanted to be armed with information in case this guy tries to con me.

Found the problem. Turns out it was the wire from the ABS sensor of the drivers side wheel hub. Because it had broken off from the connector, it has left a 2" piece of wire that is stick around the spindle. I can reach all of it without taking the wheel off. That's a weekend project. For now I've cut enough off that it doesn't snap around an hit the control arm anymore. Click is gone. I'm surprised that hard plastic coated wire would make such a racket.
