When to change the timing belt in 2001 Sunfire GT

I'm just curious as to when, generally, you would look into changing the timing belt in your Sunfire. I currently drive a 2001 Sunfire GT 2.4L with just over 160,000 km on it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Don't know about that particular model - most of the imports I've seen recommend to change around 90,000 miles (about 145,000 km).

Based on my experience, recommend to change it at least at the OEM-spec'd interval. Thought I'd be cheap with a Honda I had - inspected the belt at 120,000 miles, looked great - still could read the painted-on print, no fraying or observable wear. Wasn't 3,000 miles later that it failed, bending a valve in the process.
