where can i find clear tail lights for pontiac g8?

i want to get rid of my red taillights on my 2008 pontiac g8, where can i get some new ones? or can i just replace the red cover over the lights with a clear one?
 
There is a REASON that TailLights are RED!!

Have you checked the laws in your area... what happens if you remove the red & then WHAM get a ticket??? or are in a wreck because you didn't have the proper lights?

Okay. First thing is first. Guy number two is right you need to check your local laws before messing with lighting systems. Unfortunately here in california I can smoke the living daylights out of my tailamps but I can't use green trim or use a clear lense with any blue accents. I'm not planning on doing either of these two things but if I was it would be important to have that info.

Now there are several different tail lamp assemblies available. My personal favorite is by elegante. They have a great LED design that really flows well with the G8 and it hooks right up to the stock wiring. If you are just looking to do a clear lense over the lights. Don't! in every single state that is against the law. There is no state that will adopt a no red policy. If you don't like your lamps what I'd recommend doing is going on google and type in something to the effect of G8 Custom Tail lamps. and make sure that they are the right tail lamps. I've seen several people really fall in love with a body panel or spoiler and then come to find out they didnn't read fully that this part goes to a G6 or a G5 or something that has a different assembly.

Last thing I'm going to tell you is this. If you are looking to customize your car with tail lamps first. Stop! don't do that. Start with something that will improve performance fuel economy and longivity. Like a cold air intake, a prgrammer, and exhaust. These things are not just for great sound, They will improve the life of your motor and also you fuel economy.
 
Can't find a set of OEM GT/GXP lights? Getting just the outer lense will be next to impossible. I don't know if the V6 tails have the red reflector around the tail bulb like the GT/GXP tails do.

You can change out your red G8 taillights with the CLEAR G8 Gt tail lights with no issues. Many guys have done this. You can purchase them online at the the GMPARTSHOUSE
