Where did this wire go

Hi you all

I bought this sunfire acouple of days ago it has the theft light is on so a back story a guy replace the ignition switch but did not plug in the wire that comes off of the switch right on top of the tumbler it is kinda long i can not finger out where it goes the car does turn over fuel pump comes on but no spark so def the theft system. and i left the key on for 20 mins and it would not turn off help plz ill have pics later

as you can see from the switch in this ebay ad there is one connector with three wires. Is that connector plugged in?

And that connector I can not figure out where it plugs in apps I bought it this way and the guy I took the dash out lookin for loose connectors and have found nothing

you mention no where what year but this video shows a 96 at 2:45 min disconnecting the switch from underneath the column

Junk I don’t have a plug there and it is a 96 so why would the wires coming off it be so long if it was right below the Column

how did you get the car home without an installed ignition lock?
if it wasnt installed how do you know it is the correct lock, does the key work in the door?

I towed it home the guy replaced it ( with a gm one) it was his project car and I have the original key cylinder and it is the same one so I got a manual and it said that the wires go to the gauge cluster so I am going to start there and start to trace it

can you provide a straight on picture of what is below the steering column in the area of where the lock cylinder is located?

Where is the wire supposed be coming from eventually the BCM? The gauges? When the ECU? The manual I have said is a yellow and black and white wire coming from the gauge but there’s no yellow or white coming off the gauge

in your picture of the underside of the column there appears to be a black cable with wires ending in a gray piece of plastic that is clipped onto the column. Is that an electrical connector with nothing hooked up to it?
if the guy who sold you the car removed the old one how come he doesnt know where it should be plugged in?

It come from the shifter and the guy got it as a project but never got around to it I have the dash totally out of the car looking for this wire

And the plug under the Column is missing and I took the covers off the wiring loom to see if there is a cut wires or any tampering it all looks factory So my question is where does that yellow black and white wire actually go in the pic where is the end destination

the wires coming off the ignition lock are for security so I would assume the end destination is the BCM.
Does the wiring diagram you have show those wires going to the BCM?

It said it goes to the gauges but there is no yellow on the gauges
