Where is the fan blower ?

Today I heard a whining noise , shut my car off and went into work. After work there was no air blowing from any vents. I can move the nob to select what time of cooling / defogging I want and it makes a clicking noise. But there is no air moving.

I'm hoping this is something I can replace myself but can't find any info on where this part is located at in the car , only that it runs $50 to $70.

last year I ended up replacing my heater core and spent about $1k , the year before that was spark plug cable rotting that cost me $1k and I just got a letter about a possible fuel leak problem. So hopefully I can do this and not spend so much money.
 
Does it not work on all speeds or just on the lower speeds and high speed works? The blower motor is typically under the dash, passenger side, but before changing it you have to test it and the switch and the wire harness and the resistor to determine where the problem is.
 
it was working at higher speeds and then stoped. I'm going to check the relay now to see.
 
Check the resistor also.

where is that ? The relay with the fuses is working. So I don't think its that
 
okay , I will pull that tomorrow . how will I know if its good or not ?
 
A low tech test is to hit the motor. If it starts replace it.

Thanks for the help guys . The blower worked when hooked up to the battery and $30 and a trip to a Napa store later we were back in business. The resistor was bad
 
Not in any books but works from experience

I have an 05 uplander and a few years ago at around -25 C the blower motor stpped, now back in the days of vacuum tunes SOP was give it a thump. Even military radar units first got a thump, it was not in any manual but even house wives knew it was thefirst thing you did. Back to the blower, I went under the passengers side and banged the cowling and it has been good for the last five years. Sometimes a brush is just not seated correctly, and a hand bump cures the problem. We might be old and cheap but, we have an affinity with machines that seems lost in today's generation.
