I am comparing two similar 1989 Formula's. The one has a 350, 3.27 rear, 4 speed auto. The other has a 305, with a 3.45 rear and 5 speed manual. both are hardtop. the 305 has the N10 rpo code and that includes the LB9 (highest output 305). the 350 is more powerful but the rear end, extra weight, and one less speed might make it slightly slower. anyone know which will outperform the other?
i know for a fact that a gta 350 is slower than the 305-5speed with a 3.45 rear but the gta is a bit heavier than the formula.
i know what the n10 option is but i wanted to specify that it had it because there is a significant power gain when equipped

Dont know first hand but I'd put my money on the 350, rear end ratio isnt drastically different, not sure about weight difference, do you know weights?

They would weigh just about the same and it would be negligable, as far as performance the 350 equiped car would perform better in most areas as the 305s are wheezers no matter what equipment they had ...

I think it would depend on the drivers. They are pretty close on performance. I had a couple of IROC's with 305 tpi and they would run with my buddy's 350 Z28. I would like to think the 5 speed car might be a little quicker in the 1/4 mile maybe, but not by much. But the 350 is a better motor.
