Which transmission will work?

Hello all,
I have been searching for a 3400 motor and 4t45e transmission (still together for easier swap) for my 01 grand am (easier said than done in my area). I have found an 03 motor and tranny this week. Will this fit in my 01 with minimal problems? I really want to just drop it in and bolt it up but had heard that the 01 grand am's have a specific bolt pattern and that I have to use another 01 tranny as replacement (unless I modified it to fit). Any idea? Thanks

The engine and transmission together dropped in together? Anyway, I'm not 100% on this but, especially since you have both engine and transmission, the only thing left is bolting it all to the frame. I doubt there would be much of a change if any.
