I recently purchased a 2004 pontiac Grand am. I love the car It has the 3.4 V6 in it, and i replaced the water pump due to it was leaking everywhere. Well I have a loud squealing coming from the passenger side of the engine. So I sprayed WD40 on the belt to see if it went away and it did not. So then I pulled the belt off and it STILL squeals like hell. I can not seem to figure it out. Intake gaskets look new. And I put a vacuum gauge on the engine and it seems to have a little bit of low vacuum. Now I also can feel (with the belt off) air blowing. So i pulled the power steering pump off, and the alternator, along with the bracket. Felt around, sprayed brake cleaner everywhere. Still cant find it!!! I am not loosing oil, and I dont think I am loosing water. Ready to blow my brains out here. BTW i did a compression check on the front cylinder. I am hitting 130-160. Also the car idles ok. not high, and not real low.

Not sure why you would spray a lubricant on something that you want to grip not slip. Either the belt is bad or you may have a bad belt tensioner bearing. You can try a piece of rubber hose, hold one end near your ear and move the other end around till you find the source of the noise.
