I wanted to recharge the AC for my Fiero, but Auto Zone said they couldn't do it. They said something about going to a shop to get it done. Whats wrong with the AC on a Fiero? WIll it cost more at a shop? Auto Zone guys don't know how to do it? Thanks.

I am trying to fix my ac finding that parts are expensive, especially the condensor which is hard to find.

Fiero's have the old R-12 systems. These must be recharged by an EPA approved shop. Newer vehicles use R134a and these can be done by Auto Zone. The best thing to do is convert the Fiero's system to R134a. It is cheaper than repairing/charging an R-12 system and if you need a recharge later it is easy and inexpensive to do.

where can you get the R134a system? cost?
