I have a 2000 Pontiac grand am V6 3.4L and it always seems to run above 200 and it is supposed to be running at 195. I have tried doing radiator flushes, buying a new cap for the water pump, replacing hoses etc. Nothing works, it still runs hot. I am thinking that either the thermostat needs to be replaced or the radiator. I have had it over heat like two or three times last summer and the summer before. It has not yet this summer, but i am tired of this happening and just want to know why. It likes to get really hot when i go up hill so i have to drive with the heat on. Is it common in these cars? Could there be something else wrong besides the thermostat or the raditor? HELP!!!
