I have a 1984 Pontiac Fiero that is in mint condition minus the motor which lock up on me a while ago. I love the car allot and the more it sits, the more trashy it becomes. The car never seemed peppy enough when I drove it so I was wondering what else i could stick in the engine bay other than that 4 cyl which needs rebuilt. I have a 2.8 V6 motor out of a 1989 chevy cavalier z24 that needs rebuilt too. My question is this, does any body know for sure that the motor will work out perfectly? I don't want to spend the money rebuilding a V6 just to find out that it doesn't fit in my car. I know allot about the Fiero V6's from later years and im not really interested in those. The V6 block that i have looks like it lines up with the automatic transmission in the Fiero but... I would like to know a little more than that to go off of. What would have to be done with wirering? Motor Mounts? Who knows their Cavaliers and Fiero's?

The answer is yes. BUT you have to do alot of changing parts to make it fit so if you really want to spend the money you can. you need to make sure the engine mounts are the same, the trany matches and the drive line will match as well. if you need more info let me know... What i would do is rebuild or there are alot of rebuilt motors that you can buy for cheap.
or rebuild and do some after market horse power additions
