i've got a 400 pontiac engine that came out of a 80 model trans am. a tree had fallen and bent the top of the TA in pretty good.. we are talking the car apart and hoping can be repaired. but my main question here that i need some help with is will the 400 fit inside the 93 chevy truck i have. or what would i have to modify to make it fit. i dnt want the engine to just sit around while we are repairing the TA from front to back which might take a long period of time.

With the correct motor mounts it should fit but what about the trani?

i'm not sure just yet what tranni is hooked up. i just took the codes off the motor and go the size. i inhereted the car not to long ago and want to fully restore it.but if its no big job to drop the motor in the truck im gonna do it just to keep it running good. i'll have details on the tranni tomorrow.

i was just told it was a t350 tranni. i'm guess bop style tho right. both motor and tranni want work in this truck?

exactly chevy bolt pattern is different from BOP

so motor mounts. possibly relocating my trani mount.and refab drive shaft?

what do you mean relocating trani mount? If it's a Chevy Gen 1 th350 it will not bolt to the Pontiac block.

the 400 already has a th350 bolted to it

so you are switching the 400 engine with the trani, ok

yes. plan on doing this project in the next day or two and was trying to get advise on what needed to be moved like mounts etc. but yes i'm putting both motor and trani from the TA into the 93 chevy truck.hoping its not going to be to much of a hassel.but i'm in it for the long run and want to complete this project
