Does anyone have a wind deflector and could possibly give me some information on how they mount / If they help ? And if they have to be removed to put your rag top back up .

there are 3 types

(1) the style know as the flyswatter that was an aftermarket option from GM, requires a hardware kit and some holes drilled to mount the receiver, no longer available from GM, requires it to be removed before raising the top. Easy to do. Can be found NOS and used.

(2) The original Wind Restrictor style that mounts between the trunk lid and the Tulip panel (with the 2 small hinged flaps that move when you raise the roof)
These are no longer sold new, the screwed on, and could be left in place when you put up the top.

(3) The Newer Windrestrictor style that mounts just in front of the seats with velcro (the type I have on my car) no holes to drill, and can be removed if wanted but I leave mine in place. Does not interfere with raising the top. And you can get a plain clear on like I have, or a custom etched one, or even etched and lighted if that is what you prefer.

Would anyone want to trace their plastic or OEM? fold it up and send on..... I'd like to set a 3/8 thick lexan deflector in place, from a stock I have kicked around for years.

In my experience the windrestrictor reduces the buffeting with the windows down from 0-50mph, then the buffeting get a bit worse. But with the windows up it greatly reduces the buffeting above 50mph. I am away from home and the my car until the middle of the month, if you can wait that long I should be able to trace mine. But PM me around the 5-15 to remind me. If you are still interested.
