window problems

im looking to buy an 87SEV6 and he said "Both windows went out the other day but I think it might just be a fuse the pervious owner said that if you hit both switches at the same time it sometimes pops". Does anyone know how to fix that? Or is it just the switches? Also what should i look out for when buying one used. Thanks.

its most likely the motors. hopefully Oreif sees this to help. but i have a feeling the motors are gone. the popping might have beel the tracks or the gears in the motors. if you go to Rodney dickman he has rebuild kits for like $6 each plus shipping. the link is below.

Over time the window tracks get gunked up on Fiero's. You just take the inside panels off and clean the tracks and the plastic rollers. Once clean, lube them with a light silicone.
The windows will move easier and faster. Also make sure nothing is bent/damaged. If both windows drag it tends to pop fuses when both are pushed together.

Thanks, also is 157k miles considered a lot for these cars? Any tips on what to look out for when i look at the car would help too.
