Wont Run

After about a 70 mile drive I let off the gas and it died. I coasted to a stop, when I tried to restart it, it ran really rough (Almost like the timing is off). There was no noises or hesitations or any other signs before I let off the gas and it just died. Any Ideas?

what year Montana? did you have a check engine light on? do you know how to check for spark? can you hear the fuel pump when you first turn the key to the run position?
