If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... As a big surprise xmas present for my boyfriend, I got us flights and a hotel room to the Woodward Dream Cruise (he has wanted to go for 10 years but we live in Florida). The hotel is only a couple miles away from the 15 mile (which I hear is where the fun stuff happens). But besides that, what are some things we need to make sure not to miss? Best museum tours? Clubs or VIP tents I should try and get us access to? Parties we should go to? Any general tips?

have you checked out the facebook page for the cruise?

I've been going for years when are you arriving and where are you staying ? There is no one spot to be at as the cruise runs from Ferndale to Pontiac but Royal Oak 14 mile and Woodward seems to be the heart of it all . Every city has something special going on so what you basically have is an 8 city party . The last couple of years if your a cruiser Thursday and Friday nights are the best because Saturday Woodward becomes a parking lot after around 11 am picture 40000 cars and 1000000 people but that's part of the charm you will see cars that you can only imagine about plus the locals are great .Do a google search and you will get an idea of the madness enjoy !

Sting Ya pretty much described the event, I attend almost yearly as we live about an hour away. Birmingham blocks off old Woodward ave (the present day Woodward bypasses the City) and a lot of Clubs Park there, and most of the Big 3's hospitality tents are around that location, but it varies year to year somewhat.

If you haven't been just expect to be amazed, and definatly check it out before the official Saturday event, the week days are when you will see it more the way it was in the 60's & 70's. I had my V8 Solstice there last year on Thursday evening and Saturday. Taught a couple of High Performance Audi's that a car doesn't need big wings, and blacked out rims to beat them light to light!

Dream Cruise Events

There is a show on YouTube called "Roadkill". For the past few years they've hosted drag racing on the southbound lanes of Woodward Avenue in Pontiac. Pontiac is the northernmost city on Woodward. The City of Pontiac also lets drivers do burnouts on Woodward. The intersection of Huron and Woodward is a good spot for that. The M1 Concourse, which is at the corner of South Blvd and Woodward usually has events the week of the cruise. You'll have to check their website.
Ford takes over Ferndale with Mustang Alley. GM displays cars and trucks at 13 Mile and Woodward and in Birmingham which is 15 Mile and Woodward.
I think Chrysler pulled out of the cruise last year. The lot they always used at 13 Mile and Woodward is now a construction site. The GTO Tigers is a local Pontiac car club that parks at the corner of Pike St. and Woodward the day of the cruise. The City of Berkley (12 Mile and Woodward) has a cars-only parade Friday night before the cruise. The parade starts of 12 Mile and Woodward and heads west on 12 Mile into Berkley. It's a good parade with a lot of cars. Last year they had around 400 cars in it.
There is so much going on you'll see plenty of cars and events.
