I'm eyeballing Variable Rate rear coil springs for my '92 convertible.
I've already got the front ones. Haven't done the upgrades yet. Need a few more parts and I'll have an all new/rebuilt suspension.

There are two sets of rear springs available and one is for the coupe/sedan and the other is for the convertible. Convertible springs are more money.
My thinking is that the set for the coupe/sedan is a little taller to handle a little more weight. They're both 0.59 Inch and 203 lbs/in. But, maybe the convertible is a little heavier with the pump and cylinders.

A little taller is desirable so I don't have to pump up the air shocks unless I'm dragging dirt bikes or haulin' hotties in a parade!

Any thoughts guys???

I dont know about Sunbird coils, but I remember that 3 gen Camaro convertible springs were taller and stiffer than coupe ones........ guys used them in Hbodies ( Vega , Monza , etc)

Maybe not the case in Sunbird.

No different than the ones everyone else is selling, (" varible rate ") CC643 AND CC645

"Cargo coils" back in the day, used to have the top couple of coils tightly wound together. :)

Had a pair on my Monza in the rear . sold it with them still in there. (shorter but stiffer)

CC 645s are what I was looking at.
It turns out that's the only choice!
Convertibles do get tortured.
CC643 Spring Rate (lbs per inch) 203.00 Load (lbs) 510.00 Install Height 6.50

CC645. Spring Rate (lbs per inch) 203.00 Load (lbs) 565.00 Install Height (inch) 6.50

I just asked Summit about cc647s.
Have to wait and see.
Would like a little stiffer with an inch of lift.

I may just make lifts. I Want the progressive rate springs and I bet they are stiffer.

That looks like the answer! 1.5" is the cheapest.

CC647 are as follows: Spring rate 230.00 lbs/in Load 606.00 lbs Inst height 6.75".
