I feel like I may be on the brink of an answer for the infrequent (but increasing) lack of fuel pump power. When I crawl underneath the car, there is a spot where three different connectors plug in to what I believe is the fuel pump. The fuel pump harness has (4) wires, but I don't think that is causing the issue. There is another connector with a double row that has a total of (7) wires that I would like to replace as whenever I can't get power to the fuel pump, I will remove and reseat this connector and it will then usually start right up. I finally got a glimpse of a code today as well. P0452. So, two questions.

What is this 7 wire double connector so I can look for the correct replacement (I did initially think it was the fuel pump harness, but a trip to my local AutoZone proved me wrong).

Will the P0452 lead me anywhere? Will the two combined (loosed connectors and code) cause the car to randomly die while driving and prevent power to the fuel pump?

Thank you.

You may or may not have triggered the P0452 code if you disconnected the plug while the key was in the run position. The P0452 has no observable symptoms.
Have you tested the fuel pump for power with a test light or voltmeter?
Autozone didnt have a wiring diagram to help determine the purpose of the wire harness?
You are sure the problem isnt the fuel pump relay?
You have ruled out that the 7 wire connector isnt for the various lights in the back of the car?

yes, I verified the relays a while back. I did a test before I left work. I started the car, had it running, then pulled out this 7 wire connector and the car sputtered and died, so I do believe this connector has something to do with the fuel pump. I've attached some pictures showing the one I'm talking about. If anyone can help me identify this harness P/N, I would appreciate it. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the best at following wiring diagrams, so even if I have come across the right one on the internet, I probably glossed right over what this is.

I bet that rusted one is the grey wire, you are not going to get that connector new.

They do sell the little wire pin connectors new , most guys use them when they build engine swap harnesses.

Junkyard used only.

www.row52.com is a Upullit locater site, you might find one near you.

Cavalier would have the same part as the Sunfire.

Or you can follow that grey wire in the car and run a fused new wire to the pump.

Doug in P.R. 😎
