383 Stroker in '81 Trans Am

I am trying to pick up a 1981 trans am, but the guy has swapped out the engine to a 383 Stroker. At first I thought this was great but I heard from people that the 383 is crap motor and that I'd have to rebuild it a lot. Any opinions on the 383 Stroker? Pros and cons? And is it true it is a bad engine and I will have to rebuild it alot?

I have no idea where you heard that a 383 in general is a crap motor, there are tons of them. Without knowing who built the one in question, you have no way of knowing the quality of the job. Have it checked before buying it.
