I've noticed that every once in a while that after stopping, and turning the car off, the radio doesn't turn off when I open the door. When this happens, the door lock will actuate immediately when you press the button instead of chiming for a delayed lock. I was thinking I might have a door jamb switch that needs cleaning/replacing, but I don't see one in the door jamb area. Is the switch integrated with the door latch, or door handle on this car? I have found the if I get out of the car, close the door and reopen it, the radio will then shut off, and door lock returns to normal. Any suggestions for what might be causing this?

The diagram at www.gmpartsdirect.com shows a door jamb switch but it's unclear in my view as to the actual location. I assumed you had a 2004 when I looked it up. The other possibilty is the BCM.

All I see listed is rear door switches. I've been told it's integrated into the latch on the front doors.

Thats possible, cannt tell from the diagram and I have no other source. Have you tried spraying the door latch with a heavy dose of WD40 to see if that helps?

check the wires that are in the door jam, from door to body under the rubber,
possible broken wire from opening and closing door

When this happens does the interior light come on?

My point in asking the question is if the light stays off when you open the door good chance it is the switch.

Well, it finally acted up again, and no, the interior light didn't come on. I'm going to try spraying some lube into the latch and see if that helps. I guess if that doesn't work, I'll have to pull the door panel and try some contact cleaner on the switch.
