i got a 2002 sunfire 2200 and having problems with the fuel pump not turning on. i changed the pump thinking that was the problem, no start|(used pump out of a known running car) the grean plug by the brake peddle inside the car i seen was burnt so i unpluged it and tryed the key and the pump worked so i replaced the green plug and it worked for a fue days then stoped working, changed the relay(tryed 4 different ones) checked fuse it was good(replaced anyway), got it going by flicking the key off and on seems like 100 time or more then the pump started drove it fue more days stoped working...no wires burnt around the computer and all conections underneath are dry and no damage .also it has a after market remote starter that dont work anymore(tryed unpluging it and no differernt)...can someone help me with this:confused:

Where did you buy the relays? I bought 2 bad ones from AutoZone and bought a new one from napa and have been good since. AutoZone was $6 and napa was $18. I found out is was the relay by wiggling it with the key on and I could hear the pump come on. AC and fuel pump are the same on mine. Swap them and see if it works.

Have you tried using a voltmeter to determine when you first place the key in the run position does the relay get power, does the pump get power, etc? You could also have a bad ignition switch based on your turning it on and off many times

I never had a volt meter but I had a test light and I could only get power on one side of the relay . But I never tryed the light when the pump cut in so not sure if that's right or not... Would it be a ignition problem because I could be there for 30 min flicking the key back and forth without doing anything els with the car and the pump will cut in... Turn it off and it might start first flick or be there for a hour flicking the key to start it. Once it starts I can drive it for hours and no problems till I turn it off and try to start

Could be bent connectors in the relay base losing connection. Not the relay itself, but where it plugs in.

Checked that. Don't think the relay is the problem

Have you disconnected your radio or changed it. Is your anti-theft light on. Theft-lock will kill power to the fuel system.

Stock radio. No aftermarket equipment besides the remote starter. But the theft light came on last time I tryed to start it...I had it running out side and I think it ran out of gas and killed the battery because the key was still ahead. Filled it up a tryed a booster pack to start it and no go. Fuel pump cut in but no ignition at all. Normally it should run for 1 or 2 sec befor shut off if in theft right? This car is really starting to get to me I only has 140 000 km on it. It shouldn't have this shit wrong with it

Did you run the used pump and let it run out of gas? Do you have power to the pump for a few seconds when you first place the key in the run position? If you have power to the pump during those first few seconds what is your fuel pressure?

i think it ran out of gas. and i herd the pump start after i put more gas in it but no start. the motor turns over....but the car went into theft. never checked pressure. im not a macanic but i am a millwright so i do know abit about it. to get out of theft i think i turn the key ahead l light on dash go out and repeat 2 more time ..i think...i just dont know what els to try becides ignition switch and go from there
