how to set TDC??

what exactly are you doing to need to know when #1 is at TDC? Typically you would remove valve cover, line up timing mark with zero and check to see if both intake and exhaust are closed.

trying to figure this timing chain out, had it on and off 3 times already and everytime i fire it up and give it gas...

it hesitates before revving up

need help with what position to put chain on and the book says to have number 1 top dead center i believe when alignin sprockets

dont the sprockets go on the crank and cam only one way and you have to have dots on the two gears align in a certain manner? Doesnt the book explain something like that?

yes i followed the book but does anyone have any idea what it would be hesistating so much after i rev???

not clear what you mean by hesistating after you rev, usually hesitation is a condition that prevents your motor from reving.

yes i give it gas, it hestitates then revs... all marks are good...

any ideas?

check for a vacuum leak, did you have this problem before you changed the timing chain?

yes i did and somebody suggested it was the timing chain so i changed...

acts the same tho...

and went to oriellys to do a code check and there scanner is not even wanting to connect...

did autozone a awhile back and worked with theres, i dont see how theres any difference?

yea same issues before hand, also had a blown head gasket, got head milled and new top end gasket set...

got all that fixed, the engine idles soooo smooth now but the hesitate is bad
