Okay so i am new to the site and was hoping you guys can help me out. ive been doing a lot of research online about the motor i have but im stumped by one thing. i think my motor has the wrong exhaust manifolds on it. Here is some info of the motor
Head Casting numbers is 13 being a 1970 Ram Air III
Engine Casting is 9799914 being a 1970 RAIII 4bolt main, which it is.
Intake casting is 9799068 being a 1970 QJet 1x4
Engine Vin 20N111093= Pontiac 1970 Norwood, OH
Engine Date code is A280 being January 28, 1970
So everything says its a Ram Air III motor but the Exhaust casting on the driver side manifold is 480602 and the pass side i am unable to read but it looks nothing like the ram air manifolds and the part number says that these are for a 68-72 Lemans or GTO. Is this common or do you think someone swapped out the manifold. My dad bought the motor back in 76 and it came out of a 71 Formula Firebird that was wrecked. he put the motor in his 69 camaro that i am now restoring. the firebird was was a low mile car with one previous owner before the last owner wrecked it. So 2 owner in total. can someone give me some insight here or something please this is driving me crazy. if they are the wrong manifold would there be any advantage to swapping over to the correct ones. I can add pics if needed. thanks in advance for the help
