All,

I need a wider tire for my Lemans Sport. I have been told I can put P255/60R15's on it and even 275/60R15's. Has anyone had any experience with this? I don't want to modify my fender wells for tires.

I'm not a gear head so please keep to the KISS method.

Thank you!

I have 235/60x15 in the front and 245/60x15 in the rear. You make no mention of what you have now but if you have 235/60x15 the 255 is almost 1" wider and the 275 is almost 2" wider.

Thank you, I'm in Dallas right now and will be home on Thursday and will check what I currently have.

Melsg5,

I have P235/60's all around and my rims are 15 x 7 with a 6mm offset. The difference between 235's and 275's is only about 1.6" wider correct?

Thank you for all your input!

40mm/25.4"=1.6 correct
so that gives you .8 more on the outside and .8 more on the inside

I think I'm going to keep the 235/60/15 on the front and go with the 255/60/15 on the rear. I will let you know how it works out. Thank you,

just remember to check your speedometer accuracy with a phone app.

Of no use to the OP but of possible use for future generations, the 255/60 is 3.3% larger in diameter and will make the speedo read a little over 2 mph slower. 255/55-15 is almost exact same diameter as the 235/60-15. Now, I have no idea if that size is available.
