I am changing out my Strutt/shocks on my 98 Firebird and decided to do the ball joints ,stabilizer links, and tie rod ends. is it also necessary to change the A and J frame bushings?
I have the spring compressors on and the spring compressed on the strut/shock. The nut on the top is so covered in rust that I cant even get a wrench on it. I even soaked it in CLR for a day. If I take a dremel with a cut off wheel and cut the rusty nut off will the spring tension pop the end off. How tight do I have to compress the spring? The bottom plate is loose. and I can turn the shock. Does that mean its compressed enough?
